The rear spoiler button (S193/4) is installed instead in the upper control panel control unit in the center console.
Location
In Model 190.3 the upper control panel control unit is located above the electronic overhead control panel (N70/3).
In Model 190.4 the upper control panel control unit is located above the climate control operating unit (N58/1).
Tasks
The upper control panel control unit performs the following tasks:
- Reading in of signals
- Sending signals
Reading in of signals
Signals are read in via the following connection:
- Instrument panel LIN (LIN 1)
Instrument panel LIN
The upper control panel control unit reads in function feedback requests over the instrument panel LIN. These are sent from the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
Activity of the following functions is indicated by the corresponding light emitting diodes:
- Front passenger seat occupied recognition
- ATA function indicator (with CODE 551 (Anti-theft alarm system (ATA)))
- Hazard warning system
- Parking system (with CODE 220 (PARKTRONIC))
- Seat heater (with CODE 873 (Seat heater for driver and front passenger))
- Extend/retract rear spoiler (with code 479 (AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension) and with code U78 (AMG Sport exhaust system)) up to 30.11.2018 except Model 190.379
- Underbody spoiler (with code M030 (GT R version))
- Seat climate control (with CODE 401 (Seat climate control for driver and front passenger)) only Model 190.4
- AIRSCARF (with CODE 403 (AIRSCARF system)) only Model 190.4
- Front camera (with code P44 (Parking Package)) as of 01.12.2018

The upper control panel control unit sends the function requests, that are triggered by pressing the following buttons, over the instrument panel LIN to the front SAM control unit:

- Left seat heater button (with CODE 873 (Seat heater for driver and front passenger))
- Right seat heater button (with CODE 873 (Seat heater for driver and front passenger))
- Rear spoiler button (with code 479 (AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension) and with code U78 (AMG Sport exhaust system)) up to 30.11.2018 except Model 190.379
- Underbody spoiler button (with code M030 (GT R version)) up to 30.11.2018
