Rear SAM Control Unit With Fuse And Relay Module, Component Description - GF54.21-P-6030RR
Model 190
Shown On Model 190.3
Location
In Model 190.3, the rear SAM control unit is located under the panel in the trunk at the left.
In Model 190.4, the rear SAM control unit is located in the rear end between the two roll bars.
Task
The rear SAM control unit has the following tasks:
- Reading in of sensors and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Controlling functions
- Actuation of components
The fuse and relay module of the rear SAM control unit supplies various systems and control units with power via limit switches, depending on the function sequence in question.
The following tasks are the responsibility of the fuse and relay module:
- Voltage supply to components
- Power supply and relay switching
- Switching consumers using relays
Detailed information is available in the "Fuse and relay box, as-built configuration" function description.
Reading in of sensors and signals
The input factors are read in over the following connections:
- Direct line
- Local Interconnect Network (LIN)
- Interior CAN (CAN B)
Direct line
The signals from the following components are read via direct lines:
- Liftgate latch main catch switch (A85/5s1)
- Tank cap central locking actuator (M14/10)
- Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4)
- Left engine hood contact switch (S62/43) (with CODE 551 (Anti-theft alarm system (ATA)))
LIN
The signals from the following components are read in via LIN:
- Electronics in the on-board electrical system battery (G1) via battery sensor LIN (LIN B15)
- Alarm sirens (H3/1) (with CODE 551 (Anti-theft alarm system (ATA)) and CODE 882 (Interior monitoring)) via alarm systems LIN (LIN B14)
- Interior protection sensor (A26/13) (with CODE 551 (Anti-theft alarm system (ATA)) and CODE 882 (Interior monitoring)) via alarm system LIN
Interior CAN
The signals are read in by the rear SAM control unit over the interior CAN.
The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors are evaluated by the microprocessor and the corresponding components are actuated.
Controlling functions
The rear SAM control unit controls the following functions
- Energy management
- Rear area exterior lights
- Heated rear window
- Seat heater (with CODE 873 (Seat heater for driver and front passenger))
- Anti-theft alarm system (with CODE 551 (Anti-theft alarm system (ATA)))
Actuation of components
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
- Direct line
- LIN
- Interior CAN
Direct line
The following components are actuated via direct lines:
- Liftgate latch motor (A85/5m1)
- Left rear lamp unit (E3):
- Left rear turn signal lights (E3e1)
