Location
The DIRECT SELECT INTERFACE is located in the center console between the driver and front passenger seat.
Tasks
The DIRECT SELECT INTERFACE records the status of the button "P" and also the positions of the selector lever without touch, via integrated sensors with Hall elements.
The DIRECT SELECT INTERFACE is flashable and codeable.

The DIRECT SELECT INTERFACE evaluates the following input signals and outputs the appropriate output signals:
- Direct input signals
- Drive train CAN (CAN C1) input signals
- Drive train CAN output signals
Direct input signals
- Terminal 30 (fused)
- Terminal 31
Input signals from drive train CAN
- Status of left door lock, from left door control unit (N69/1) via interior CAN (CAN B) and AMG gateway control unit (N93/9)
- Status of service brake and wheel speeds, from Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4) via chassis CAN 1 (CAN E1) and powertrain control unit (N127)
- Status of terminal 15, from electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) via chassis CAN 1 and powertrain control unit
- On-board electrical system status and diagnostic communication, from front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) via chassis CAN 1 and powertrain control unit
Drive train CAN output signals
- Diagnostic communication, to front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module via ME-SFI control unit and chassis CAN 1
- Selector lever position and status of button "P" at the dual clutch transmission control unit (N15/13)
