We would like to inform you that only the listed operation items (AP) for programming or SCN coding may be used:

• 54 0991 (Program and code.................... control unit (after quick test))
• 54 0992 (Code.................... control unit (after quick test))

The AP "54 0991 document (Program and code.................... control unit (after quick test))" is valid for all control units. It includes programming of the control unit and the final SCN coding. This also applies if several control units are programmed and coded in this process.

The AP "54 0992 document (Code.................... control unit (after quick test))" is only valid for the SCN coding of a single control unit. Therefore, the AP document may not be used together with AP "54 0991 (Program and code.................... control unit (after quick test))".

The initial startup of a control unit is generally already included in the operation item (replace control unit) of the control unit and need not be carried out separately. Observe included work texts or additional operations in ASRA.

The basic requirement for a cost settlement in a warranty and goodwill case (W & G) is the customer complaint. Therefore, in a W & G case, only the outlay for the programming procedure that relates directly to the customer complaint may be invoiced.

A general programming of all control units for which a new software release is available, may not be settled through warranty and goodwill.

The AP "54 0991 document (Program and code.................... control unit (after quick test))" can be used several times over, where additional control units require programming that are directly related to the customer complaint, and which do not automatically run through a procedure. Where used several times over, a brief reasoning should be noted on the order and the message field.

Definition of terms:

• Program: A new software release is installed on the control unit (flash, software update, etc.).
• Code: Vehicle-specific data are written per SCN coding into the control unit.
