New electrical fuses with silver-plated contacts have been used since Models 166 and 246.
These can be identified by the additional "S" at the top next to the fuse rating. The advantage of these fuses is their high temperature resistance.
Both fuses with silver-plated contacts and fuses with brass contacts can be used.
Conventional electrical fuses with brass contacts must be replaced by identical fuses with brass contacts. New electrical fuses with silver-plated contacts (with additional "S") must by replaced by fuses with silver-plated contacts.
The material of the fuse and fuse slot must be the same (no mixed material pairing!).
Contact corrosion resulting in premature failure of the fuse will otherwise occur.
