Location  On model 190.4, the tuner unit is located on a holder under the rear right soft top compartment. On model 190.3, the tuner unit is located in the trunk on a holder on the right side wall.

Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) 

The tuner unit is a MOST participant and it communicates over this with the head unit (A26/17).

The tuner unit receives the following signals via direct lines:

Processing signals 

With CODE 536 (SIRIUS satellite radio) the tuner unit decodes and amplifies the satellite signals (Time For Division Multiplex (TDM)) and the terrestrial signals (Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (COFDM)) into PCM signals (Pulse Code Modulation).

With CODE 537 (Digital radio (DAB)), the tuner unit decodes the DAB band III signals into PCM signals.
