The overhead control panel electronics is located at the front, next to the headliner.
Tasks
The controls for the following systems are arranged at the overhead control panel electronics:
- Interior illumination:
- Rear dome lamp switch (model 190.3)
- Interior lamp automatic function switch
- Dome lamp switch
- Left reading lamp switch
- Right reading lamp switch
- Interior and tow-away protection (with code 882 (Interior protection and tow-away protection)):
- Interior protection switch
- Towing sensor button
- Emergency call/assist system (with code 348 (Emergency call/assist system) code 350 (eCall Europe emergency call system) or code 351 (Emergency call system (HERMES))):
- SOS button
- Breakdown assistance button (N70/3s10) (with code 348 (Emergency call/assist system or code 351 (Emergency call system (HERMES)))
- MB Info button (N70/3s11) (with code 348 (Emergency call/assist system) or code 351 (Emergency call system (HERMES)))
The node of the wiper/inside rear-view mirror LIN (LIN 2) is integrated in the overhead control panel electronics
The following components are connected to this node:
- Inside rearview mirror (A67) (with code 231 (Garage door opener) or code 494 (USA version) or code P49 (Mirror package))
- Rain/light sensor (B38/2)
- Front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)
The overhead control panel electronics are supplied with voltage by the front SAM control unit.
The following components are supplied with voltage by the overhead control panel electronics:
- Rain/light sensor
- Left sun visor mirror lamp (E14/1) via the left mirror lamp switch (S101)
- Right sun visor mirror lamp (E14/2) via the right mirror lamp switch (S102)
The housing of the overhead control panel electronics contains the following components:
- Interior temperature sensor with integrated fan (N70/3b1)
- Interior protection and tow-away protection control unit (N26/6) (model 190 3 with code 882 (Interior protection and tow-away protection)):
- Interior protection receiver (N26/6a1)
- Left interior protection transmitter (N26/6b1)
- Right interior protection transmitter (N26/6b2)
