Rear Fender Completely Separate - Ar63.50-P-1410-01RG

REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 15 84 00 Heat gun   WS54.00-P-0125B
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 04 39 00 Rivet press tool   WS60.00-P-0440B

Model 190.4 

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Heat flow drill screws on rear fender (1) with heat gun and remove (area A).

    IMPORTANT Flow-drill bolts are bonded and must be heated.

  2. Expose and cut off self-pierce rivets on rear fender (1) (areas B1 and B2 ).
  3. Expose self-pierce rivets on rear fender (1) and cut with rivet press tool (areas C1 and C2 ).
  4. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  5. Expose and drill off blind rivets on rear fender (1) (area D).
  6. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  7. Expose and cut off self-pierce rivets on rear fender (1) (areas E1 and E2 ).
  8. Expose and cut off weld seams/spot welds on rear fender (1) (areas F1 and F2 ).
  9. Cut blind rivet on rear fender (1) (area G).
  10. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  11. Expose and cut off self-pierce rivets on rear fender (1) (areas H1 and H2 ).
  12. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  13. Heat rear fender (1) in cross-hatched areas with heat gun.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  14. Remove damaged rear fender (1).

  15. Grind mating surfaces on body down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and weld joints.

  16. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
