Inner Rear Wheelhouse Separation - Ar63.10-P-0670-01RG

Model 190 

MODIFICATION NOTES

31.03.2017 Model 190.4 added Operation steps 37 to 42, 54 and 55  

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Expose self-pierce rivets on left center end plate (4) and right center end plate (5) and drill off (areas A and B).
  2. Heat flow drill screws on left center end plate (4) and right center end plate (5) with heat gun and remove (areas C, D and E).

    IMPORTANT Flow-drill bolts are bonded and must be heated.

  3. Expose weld joints on left center end plate (4) and right center end plate (5) and cut off (areas F1 and F2).
  4. Heat left center end plate (4) and right center end plate (5) in crosshatched area with heat gun.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched area is bonded.

  5. Remove damaged left center end plate (4) and right center end plate (5).
  6. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  7. Heat flow drill screws on end plate (6) with heat gun and remove (areas G, H1 and H2).

    IMPORTANT Flow-drill bolts are bonded and must be heated.

  8. Expose self-pierce rivets on end plate (6) and drill off (areas I, J and K).
  9. Heat end plate (6) in cross-hatched area with heat gun.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched area is bonded.

  10. Remove damaged end plate (6).
  11. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  12. Heat flow drill screws on front floor end plate (3) with heat gun and remove (areas L, M and N).

    IMPORTANT Flow-drill bolts are bonded and must be heated.

  13. Expose weld joints on front floor end plate (3) and cut off (areas O1 and O2).
  14. Heat front floor end plate (3) in cross-hatched area with heat gun.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched area is bonded.

  15. Remove damaged front floor end plate (3).
  16. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  17. Heat flow drill screws on front wheel well end plate (8) with heat gun and remove (areas P and Q).

    IMPORTANT Flow-drill bolts are bonded and must be heated.

  18. Expose weld joints on front wheel well end plate (8) and cut off (areas R1, R2 and R3).
  19. Heat front wheel well end plate (8) in cross-hatched area with heat gun.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched area is bonded.

  20. Remove damaged front wheel well end plate (8).
  21. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  22. Heat flow drill screws on left front wheel well (9) with heat gun and remove (area S).

    IMPORTANT Flow-drill bolts are bonded and must be heated.

  23. Heat left front wheel well (9) in cross-hatched areas with heat gun (areas S, T1 and T2).

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched area is bonded.

  24. Remove damaged left front wheel well (9).
  25. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

    IMPORTANT Perform the following operation steps 26 to 31 only on model 190.3.

  26. Heat flow drill screws on left rear window frame (10) with heat gun and remove (areas U1 and U2).

    IMPORTANT Flow-drill bolts are bonded and must be heated.

  27. Expose self-pierce rivets on left rear window frame (10) and drill off (area V1).
  28. Expose self-pierce rivets on left rear window frame (10) and cut off (area V2).
  29. Heat left rear window frame (10) in cross-hatched areas with heat gun (areas U1, U2, V1 and V2).

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched area is bonded.

  30. Remove damaged left rear window frame (10).
  31. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

    IMPORTANT Perform the following operation steps 32 to 36 only on model 190.3.

  32. Expose weld seams of C-pillar left outer support (11) and cut off (areas W1).
  33. Remove damaged C-pillar left outer support (11).
  34. Expose weld seams of C-pillar left inner support (12) and cut off (areas W2).
  35. Remove damaged C-pillar left inner support (12).
  36. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

    IMPORTANT Perform the following operation steps 37 to 42 only on model 190.4.

  37. Heat flow drill screws (15) on soft top compartment beltline reinforcement (14) with heat gun and remove (area U3).

    IMPORTANT Flow drill screws (15) are bonded and must be heated.

  38. Expose blind rivets (16) on soft top compartment beltline reinforcement (14) and drill off (area V3).
  39. Expose self-pierce rivets (17) on soft top compartment beltline reinforcement (14) and cut off (area V4).
  40. Heat soft top compartment beltline reinforcement (14) in crosshatched areas with heat gun (areas U3, V3 and V4).

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched area is bonded.

  41. Remove damaged soft top compartment beltline reinforcement (14).
  42. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
  43. Expose weld seams of lower B-pillar (13) all round and cut off (areas X).
  44. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  45. Expose weld seams on inner rear wheel well (1) and cut off (areas Y1, Y2, Y3 and Y4).
  46. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  47. Expose weld seams on inner rear wheel well (1) all round and cut off (areas Z1).
  48. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  49. Expose weld seams on inner rear wheel well (1) all round and cut off (areas Z2, Z3 and Z4).
  50. Remove damaged inner rear wheel well (1).
  51. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

    IMPORTANT Perform the following operation steps 52 and 53 only on model 190.3.

  52. Level mating surfaces of cut weld seams on body in crosshatched areas and grind down to bare metal.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and weld joints.

  53. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

    IMPORTANT Perform the following operation steps 54 and 55 only on model 190.4.

  54. Level mating surfaces of cut weld seams on body in crosshatched areas and grind down to bare metal.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and weld joints.

  55. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
