Rear Longitudinal Member Partial Removal - Ar64.20-P-1260-01RG

Model 190 

MODIFICATION NOTES

28.06.2017 Model 190.4 added Operation steps 1 to 24  

IMPORTANT The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage, these steps must be similarly performed on the right side of the vehicle.

  1. Expose weld seam on front floor (7) and cut out (area H).
  2. Mark separation point on front floor (7) (area E).

    IMPORTANT Measure dimension (b) from longitudinal member edge to vehicle center and dimension (c) from crossmember edge toward front.

  3. Separate front floor (7) at separation point (area E).
  4. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
  5. Heat flow drill bolts and self-tapping fillister head bolts on front floor (7) with heat gun and remove (area G).

    IMPORTANT Flow drill screws and selftapping fillister head screws are bonded.

  6. Heat front floor section (7a) in cross-hatched area with heat gun.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched area is bonded.

  7. Remove front floor section (7a).

  8. Heat flow drill bolts and self-tapping fillister head bolts on lower rear end plate (6) with heat gun and remove (area I).

    IMPORTANT Flow drill screws and selftapping fillister head screws are bonded.

  9. Heat lower rear end plate (6) in cross-hatched area with heat gun and detach from rear longitudinal member (1).

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched area is bonded.

  10. Expose weld seams on rear longitudinal member (1) and cut out (areas J and K).
  11. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  12. Expose weld seams on rear longitudinal member (1) and cut out (areas L and M).
  13. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  14. Expose weld seams on rear longitudinal member (1) and cut out (areas N and O).
  15. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  16. Mark separation point on rear longitudinal member (1) all the way around.

    IMPORTANT Measure dimension (a1) from front edge of upper crossmember to rear, dimension (a2) from front edge of lower crossmember to rear.

  17. Cut rear longitudinal member (1) all the way around at separating point (area P).
  18. Remove damaged rear longitudinal member (1).
  19. Deburr body at separating point (area P).
  20. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  21. Level mating surfaces on body in cross-hatched areas and grind down to bare metal.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and weld joints.

  22. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  23. Level out mating surfaces on rear floor (7) in cross-hatched areas and grind down to bare metal.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of weld joints.

  24. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
