Longitudinal Member Front Section Separation - Ar62.20-P-1260-01RG

REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 15 84 00 Heat gun   WS54.00-P-0125B

Model 190 

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Heat self-tapping fillister head screw (5) and front crossmember support (4) with heat gun and remove.

    IMPORTANT Self-tapping fillister head screws are bonded and must be heated.

  2. Expose weld seams on front crossmember support (4) and cut (areas G, H, I).
  3. Heat front crossmember support (4) in area of bolts (5) with heat gun.

    IMPORTANT Areas of bolts are bonded and must be heated.

  4. Remove damaged front crossmember support (4).
  5. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  6. Scribe separation point on longitudinal member front section (1) all the way around (area A).

    IMPORTANT Measure dimension (a) from edge of front wheel well.

  7. Separate longitudinal member front section (1) at separation point (area A) all the way around.
  8. Remove damaged longitudinal member front section (1).
  9. Deburr separating point (area A) on body.
  10. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
