Front Longitudinal Member Section Preparation - Ar62.20-P-1260-05RG

The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
- Scribe elongated holes on longitudinal member (3) outside and inside.
Measure dimensions (e1, e2, f1 and f2) from cut. Measure dimensions (a1, a2, b1, b2, c1, c2, d1 and d2) from bottom edge of longitudinal member (3).
- Scribe elongated holes on longitudinal member front section (1) outside and inside.
Measure dimensions (e1, e2, f1 and f2) from cut. Measure dimensions (a1, a2, b1, b2, c1, c2, d1 and d2) from bottom edge of longitudinal member front section (1).
- Cut elongated holes on longitudinal member front section (1) and longitudinal member (3) (areas A and B).
- Grind mating surfaces on weld joints on longitudinal member (3) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Prepare welds by grind down to bare metal with stainless steel brush.
- Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
- Grind mating surfaces on weld joints on longitudinal member front section (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Prepare welds by grind down to bare metal with stainless steel brush.
- Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
- Grind mating surfaces on weld joints on inner boot (2) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Prepare welds by grind down to bare metal with stainless steel brush.
- Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
- Grind mating surfaces for weld joins on front crossmember support (4) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Prepare welds by grind down to bare metal with stainless steel brush.
- Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
- Grind mating surfaces for weld joints on front wheel well (6), front crossmember (7) and front crossmember bracket (8) after installing longitudinal member front section (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Prepare welds by grind down to bare metal with stainless steel brush.
- Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
