Front End Prepare For Welding In - Ar62.10-P-1000-04RG

Model 190 

  1. Grind mating surfaces on front end (1) for weld joints in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Prepare welds by grind down to bare metal with stainless steel brush.

  2. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

    Shown on model 190.3 

  3. Grind mating surfaces of the firewall crossmember (2) grind down to bare metal at the body for weld joints in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Prepare welds by grind down to bare metal with stainless steel brush.

  4. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
  5. Grind mating surfaces on left and right mounting supports at the outer body for weld joints down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Prepare welds by grind down to bare metal with stainless steel brush.

  6. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

    IMPORTANT The following steps 7 and 8 are shown only on the left new part and must be performed in the same way on the right new part.

  7. Grind mating surfaces on strut (3) down to bare metal for weld joints in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Prepare welds by grind down to bare metal with stainless steel brush.

  8. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

    IMPORTANT The following steps 9 and 10 are shown only on the left new part and must be performed in the same way on the right new part.

  9. Grind mating surfaces on outer longitudinal member end plate (4) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

  10. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  11. Grind mating surfaces on left upper firewall (5) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces. Prepare welds by grind down to bare metal with stainless steel brush.

  12. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  13. Grind right cover plate (6) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces. Prepare welds by grind down to bare metal with stainless steel brush.

  14. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  15. Grind mating surfaces on right lower end plate (7) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

  16. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  17. Grind mating surfaces on left inner end plate (8) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces. Prepare welds by grind down to bare metal with stainless steel brush.

  18. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  19. Scribe left lower firewall section

    IMPORTANT Apply dimension (e) from old part and add dimension (f).

  20. Separate left lower firewall section.

    IMPORTANT Remaining piece of left lower firewall is not required.

  21. Grind mating surfaces on left lower firewall section down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

  22. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  23. Grind mating surfaces on A-pillar section (9) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces. Prepare welds by grind down to bare metal with stainless steel brush.

  24. Remove shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.

  25. Grind mating surfaces on right lower end plate (10) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
