Hold Function, Basic Function - GF42.47-P-1011A

Overview 

This document contains information on:

General 

The HOLD function holds the vehicle stationary without the driver having to operate the brake. The function assists the driver during waiting times in traffic.

Function requirements 

Function 

Hold vehicle 

The HOLD function is switched on if after a short time the driver fully depresses the depressed brake pedal until the "HOLD" message appears in the instrument cluster.

When, after the vehicle has stopped, the driver releases the brake pedal, an incline-dependent hold pressure is set and maintained.

Release vehicle 

When starting off, the holding pressure is reduced by the standstill control depending on the respective situation.

The HOLD function is switched off automatically in the following cases:

  Additional basic functions     
  Brake light switch, basic function   GF42.10-P-2001A 
  Electronic Stability Program control unit, basic function   GF42.45-P-9890A 
  Standstill control, basic function   GF42.47-P-1009A
