General
If the electric parking brake switch is pressed and held down during vehicle operation, emergency braking takes place via the service brake.
Function requirements
- Drive system active
- Vehicle speed > 4 km/h
Function
If the electric parking brake switch is pressed and held down while driving, the ESP® control unit detects a brake request and activates the following processes:
- The vehicle is braked via the service brake.
- The brake lamps are actuated.
- The instrument cluster indicates the status of the parking brake via a function lamp.
