General
The parking brake is engaged or released by operating the electric parking brake switch (1.1, 2).
Depending on the equipment installed, the electric parking brake switch (1.1, 2) is designed as a separate component part or integrated into the exterior lighting switch group and electric parking brake (1).
Function
Emergency braking takes place if the electric parking brake switch (1.1, 2) is pressed and held down while driving.
The status of the electric parking brake switch (1.1, 2) is read in directly by the ESP control unit®.
