    Checking Y-pretension

  7. When the crank window (6) is closed, check transition between crank window (6) and triangular side window (7) at measuring position (5) with feeler gauge SPECIAL TOOL , adjust if necessary.

IMPORTANT Adjust transition in Y-direction between crank window (6) and triangular side window (7) via adjustment of triangular side window (7).

IMPORTANT Measuring position in Y-direction (5) measured at beltline of doors, dimension (f) = 0.0 mm (± 1.0 mm)

  8. Close front door (8) and lower crank window (6) 20 mm.
  9. Check distance at measuring position for Y-direction (4) between crank window (6) and triangular side window (7) with feeler gauge SPECIAL TOOL .

IMPORTANT Measuring position in Y-direction (4) measured 30 mm from sealing edge, dimension (e) = min. 10 mm.

    Adjusting Y-tension

  10. SPECIAL TOOL Loosen counter nut on bolt (10) with socket wrench (9) and adjust position of crank window by turning bolt (10) in the appropriate direction. SPECIAL TOOL

IMPORTANT Turning the bolt (10) clockwise tilts the window inward in the upper area increasing the initial tension. Turning the bolt (10) counter-clockwise tilts the window outward in the upper area decreasing the initial tension.

  11. Tighten counter nut on bolt (10). TORQUE SPECIFICATION

    IMPORTANT Observe specified tightening torque.

  12. Again check measuring position of Y-direction (4) and measuring position of Y-direction (5), repeat settings if required.
