General
The door lock (1) is located in the respective doors.
Function
The mechanical part of the door lock (1) connects the door with the lock striker, holds it securely closed or releases it again in the case of an opening request.
The door lock (1) has the following tasks:
- Defining the door status (open or closed) through status of main catch microswitch (1.3)
- Locking/unlocking of door through central locking by actuating central locking motor (1.1)
- Additional lock of door through additional door lock actuator motor (1.2) (vehicles with increased anti-theft protection)
- Defining the detent positions during closing assist (vehicles with closing assist) through status of safety catch microswitch (1.4) and main catch microswitch (1.3)
- Detection of door opening request through status of external operation microswitch (1.6) and inside door handle microswitch (1.5) (vehicles with power closing)
The door control unit reads the status of the respective switches and actuates the corresponding actuators.
Depending on the equipment installed, the following components are installed in each door lock (1):
- Central locking motor (1.1)
- Additional door lock actuator motor (1.2) (vehicles with increased anti-theft protection)
- Main catch microswitch (1.3)
- Safety catch microswitch (1.4) (vehicles with power closing function)
- Inside door handle microswitch (1.5) (vehicles with power closing function)
- External operation microswitch (1.6) (vehicles with power closing function)
