- Clamp exhaust gas collector pipe with exhaust gas turbocharger in vise.
Clamp with aid of helper so that clamped at flange (1) to exhaust manifold.
- Remove screws (2, 3).
Use aid of helper so that exhaust gas turbocharger does not fall out of vise.
- Remove exhaust gas turbocharger from exhaust gas collector pipe.
Observe installation position of seal and position of sealing lug.
- Clean sealing surfaces at exhaust gas collector pipe and at exhaust gas turbocharger.

- Insert seal between exhaust gas collector pipe and exhaust gas turbocharger.
Replace seal.
A correct position of the sealing lug facilitates a correct hole pattern.
- Finger-tighten screws (2, 3).
It must be easy to move exhaust gas turbocharger on sealing surface to exhaust gas collector pipe.
- Reinstall exhaust gas turbocharger with exhaust gas collector pipe.
Temporary installation serves for a free-of-tension final assembly.
- Attach exhaust gas turbocharger with old seal to oil supply connection fitting.
- Attach exhaust gas collector pipe with old seal to exhaust manifold.
Tighten screws by hand in a diagonal pattern to ensure an even, flat contact of exhaust gas collector pipe at both exhaust manifolds.
- Tighten screw (2)

- Release screws again between exhaust gas collector pipe and exhaust manifold.
- Remove exhaust gas turbocharger again from oil supply connection fitting.
- Remove exhaust gas turbocharger with exhaust gas collector pipe.
Prevent contact with surrounding component parts. Displacement between exhaust gas collector pipe and exhaust gas turbocharger will otherwise occur. This will lead to distortions that result in significant engine damage.
- Tighten screws (3) between exhaust gas collector pipe and exhaust gas turbocharger
