1. Cut commercially available electrical line to a line cross section of 0.35 mm2.

   A total of 4 line sections of equal length are required.

   Model 166.0##/8## 1#

   Dimensions:

   Line length (a) = 1000 mm

   Model 166.0##/8## 2#

   Dimensions:

   Line length (a) = 1300 mm

2. Strip electrical lines (1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4) on one side and mount female contacts (2).

   The crimper is included in the basic wiring harness repair kit and the passenger car supplementary wiring harness repair kit.

3. Install female contacts (2) of electrical lines (1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4) into white 4-pin connector (5).

   Contact cavity assignment:

   Contact cavity 1  = Electrical lines (1.1)

   Contact cavity 2  = Electrical lines (1.2)

   Contact cavity 3  = Electrical lines (1.3)

   Contact cavity 4  = Electrical lines (1.4)

4. Mark electrical lines (1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4) to match contact cavity assignment.
5. Strip electrical lines (1.3, 1.4) at ends of lines and mount female contacts (2).

   The crimper is included in the basic wiring harness repair kit and the passenger car supplementary wiring harness repair kit.

6. Strip electrical line (1.1) at end of line.
7. Wrap insulation tape (4) around electrical lines (1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4).

   Dimensions:

   Distance from insulation tape wrapping (b) to white 4-pin connector (5) = 20 mm.

   Length of insulation tape wrapping (c) = 50 mm

   The following operation steps describe installation in a left-hand drive vehicle. The work procedure may differ for right-hand drive vehicles.

8. Route electrical line (1.1) from installation location of additional fan to cockpit circuit 30g fuse box (F3/3) and fix in place using cable ties.
9. Remove black/red line from upper contact cavity of slot 22. 
10. Cut off black/red line contact and strip end of line.
11. Twist line ends for black/red line and electrical line (1.1) and mount new contact (3).

    The crimper is included in the basic wiring harness repair kit and the passenger car supplementary wiring harness repair kit.

12. Install contact (3) into upper contact cavity of slot 22. 
13. Check fuse assignment of slot 22. 

    Fuse rating for slot 22  = 7.5 A

14. Route electrical line (1.2) from installation location of additional fan to cockpit ground point (W1/4) and fix in place using cable ties
15. Cut off excess length of electrical line (1.2) and mount commercially available round cable lug.

    The crimper is included in the basic wiring harness repair kit and the passenger car supplementary wiring harness repair kit.

16. Connect electrical line (1.2) to cockpit ground point (W1/4) .

17. Route electrical lines (1.3, 1.4) from installation location of additional fan to mounting slot for audio component.
18. Remove black 12-pin connector (6) from black 44-pin connector (7) of vehicle wiring harness.
19. Install electrical line (1.3) into contact cavity 1  of black 12-pin connector (6).
20. Install electrical line (1.4) into contact cavity 8  of black 12-pin connector (6).
21. Install black 12-pin connector (6) into black 44-pin connector (7) of vehicle wiring harness.
22. Strap down excess lengths of electrical lines (1.3, 1.4) and fix in place using cable ties.
