  1. Remove angle gauge (5) from SPECIAL TOOL adjustment tool set (211 589 02 21 00).
    1. Model 164 up to 8/24/11, 166 up to 8/24/11 SPECIAL TOOL Insert adapter (211 589 05 21 00) into guide of angle gauge (5) and fix in place with screw/bolt at angle gauge (5).
    2. Model 166 as of 8/25/11

      Model 292

      SPECIAL TOOL Insert adapter (231 589 00 21 00) into guide of angle gauge (5) and fix in place with screw/bolt at angle gauge (5).

  2. Position wiper arms in park position.

    If the wiper arms are not in the park position.

  3. Raise driver-side wiper arm (1) and remove driver-side wiper blade (3).

    DANGER When working on raised driver-side wiper arm (1), ensure that this does not fall onto the windshield. Otherwise windshield will be damaged.

    1. Model 164 up to 8/24/11, 166 up to 8/24/11 SPECIAL TOOL Slide adapter (211 589 05 21 00) with angle gauge (5) onto wiper blade mount of driver-side wiper arm (1) and clamp tight with screw/bolt.
    2. Model 166 as of 8/25/11

      Model 292

      SPECIAL TOOL Slide adapter (231 589 00 21 00) with angle gauge (5) onto wiper blade mount of driver-side wiper arm (1) and clamp tight with screw/bolt.

  4. Lower driver-side wiper arm (1) carefully onto windshield.

    IMPORTANT All three contact points at the foot of angle gauge (5) must make contact with the windshield.

  5. Open hood.
  6. Pull off seal (8) on driver side approx. up to the vehicle center.
  7. Remove screws/bolts (9).
  8. Remove partition wall (10).
  9. Loosen bolt (11).
  10. Enlarge the angle of incidence of the driver-side wiper arm (1) by lifting (arrow G) the windshield wiper system (12) or reduce it by lowering (arrow H) the windshield wiper system (12).
  11. Tighten bolt (11), once the correct angle of incidence has been adjusted.
  12. Insert partition wall (10) screw in screws/bolts (9).
  13. Install seal (8).
  14. Close hood.
    1. Model 164 up to 8/24/11, 166 up to 8/24/11 Raise driver-side wiper arm (1) and remove SPECIAL TOOL adapter (211 589 05 21 00) together with angle gauge (5) from driver-side wiper arm (1).

      NOTES When working on raised driver-side wiper arm (1), ensure that this does not fall onto the windshield. Otherwise windshield will be damaged.

    2. Model 166 as of 8/25/11

      Model 292

      Raise driver-side wiper arm (1) and remove SPECIAL TOOL adapter (231 589 00 21 00) together with angle gauge (5) from driver-side wiper arm (1).

      NOTES When working on raised driver-side wiper arm (1), ensure that this does not fall onto the windshield.

      Otherwise windshield will be damaged.

  15. Attach driver side wiper blade (3) and fold driver-side wiper arm (1) onto windshield.
