Location 

The DVD player is freely accessible and located in the center of the rear bench seat above the propeller shaft tunnel

Tasks 

Central control unit for rear entertainment system 

The DVD player is used for the following applications:

Use of all audio or video sources installed on and in DVD player 

Use also includes connection detection (recognition of connected audio and video sources) and management of the audio and video sources Audio and video sources can be connected via the following:

IMPORTANT Media sources connected via "AUX" must always be selected manually.

Power and resource management 

Detection of overvoltage/undervoltage combined with appropriate switch on/off behavior

Receive signals

The DVD player is a telematics CAN (CAN A) subscriber. It communicates with the following components:

Decoding of signals 

Decoding of analog or digital audio and picture signals from audio or video sources connected via the following options into analog audio and picture signals:

The DVD player is a subscriber of the telematics CAN and communicates with the following components:

Body 

The DVD player has connections for audio and video sources and an integrated DVD drive.

IMPORTANT The DVD drive of the DVD player is a single slot drive. In addition to DVD Video and audio media, CD audio media and MP3 files can also be played. Furthermore, media protected by the latest copy protection systems and recorded blanks (CD R/RW; DVD-R, DVD-RW; DVD+R, DVD+RW) can be played. The DVD drive has a "DVD Disk Auto Detect" function.
