Function requirements for speaker output, general

Speaker output, general

The speaker actuation in the emergency call system (with code 348 (Emergency call/assist system), with code 350 (eCall Europe emergency call system)) or code 351 (Emergency call system (HERMES)) or with telematics services with a voice connection (with code 06U (Mercedes connect me basic services)) is described in separate documents:

A distinction is made between the following procedures during speaker output:

Speaker output in vehicles except code 810 (Sound system) and except code 811 (Advanced sound system)

The audio signals are output via the following speakers by the audio equipment using direct lines:

IMPORTANT Model 292

with code B63 (AMG eSound)

The audio equipment transmits the processed audio signals via direct lines to the engine sound control unit, which then forwards the audio signals to the speakers via direct lines.

Speaker output in vehicles with code 810 (Sound system)

The audio signals from the audio equipment or the tuner unit are routed via Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) to the sound system amplifier control unit, where they undergo final amplification and are then output via the following speakers using direct lines:

IMPORTANT The center instrument panel speaker is used for an emergency call or for telematics services with voice connection for voice output.

During actuation of the speaker system, the volume is adapted to the noise level in the vehicle interior. To do so, the sound system amplifier control unit receives a speed signal from the audio equipment via the Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST).

IMPORTANT Model 292

with code B63 (AMG eSound)

The sound system amplifier control unit receives synthesized sound signals from the engine sound control unit.

Speaker output in vehicles with code 811 (Advanced sound system)

The audio signals from the COMAND controller unit or the tuner unit are routed via Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) to the sound system amplifier control unit, where they undergo final amplification and are then output via the following speakers using direct lines:

IMPORTANT The center instrument panel speaker is used for an emergency call or for telematics services with voice connection for voice output.

During actuation of the speaker system, the volume is adapted to the noise level in the vehicle interior. To do so, the sound system amplifier control unit receives a speed signal from the audio equipment via the Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST). The sound system amplifier control unit also reads in the signals from the sound system microphone.

The sound system amplifier control unit switches the illumination elements integrated in the left front door speaker, mirror triangle and in the right front door speaker, mirror triangle on and off.

IMPORTANT Model 292

with code B63 (AMG eSound)

The sound system amplifier control unit receives synthesized sound signals from the engine sound control unit.
