Check Low-Temperature Circuit Cooling System For Leaks - AR09.41-P-1010MLJ

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove upper engine cover    
2 Unscrew cap on low-temperature circuit coolant expansion reservoir (1)    
INSPECT Check     
3 Check coolant level and antifreeze content coolant in low-temperature circuit In a case of the antifreeze content of the coolant being too low

Add antifreeze or replace the coolant
 
4 Screw tester cap (2) onto low-temperature circuit coolant expansion reservoir (1) SPECIAL TOOL Test cap Fig 2
5 Connect pressure pump (3) at tester cap (2) SPECIAL TOOL Pressure pump Fig 1
6 Apply pressure to the low-temperature circuit NOTES
Do not exceed the specified test pressure. Damage can occur on the engine cooling system otherwise.
 
7 Perform a visual inspection on the components carrying coolant IMPORTANT Check condition and coolant loss for all coolant carrying components and connections  
8 Actuate pressure relief button (4) on pressure pump (3) and relieve the pressure SPECIAL TOOL Pressure pump Fig 1
INSTALLING Install     
9 Detach pressure pump (3) at tester cap (2)    
10 Unscrew tester cap (2) at low-temperature circuit coolant expansion reservoir (1)    
11 Check coolant level and antifreeze content coolant FLUID SPECIFICATION Engine 278 in model 166

13 Install upper engine cover
