Location
The Audio/COMAND® display is fitted to the top center of the instrument panel.
Tasks
The Audio/COMAND® display provides a uniform display of user-related operating and information windows and video images.
The Audio/COMAND® display receives the following signals:
- Terminal 30g and terminal 31
- Control signals (e.g. switching on) via telematics CAN (CAN A) from the audio equipment
- Picture signals via the LVDS interface (low voltage differential signaling) from the audio equipment
The Audio/COMAND® display evaluates the input factors in the integrated microprocessor and actuates the color screen.

The Audio/COMAND® display has the following characteristics:
- 800x480 pixel resolution
- Format 15:9
- 8 bits per color
- High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP)
- Safety glass

The Audio/COMAND® display is available in the following variants:
- 8" display (free standing) (with CODE 531 (COMAND® APS) or with CODE 857 (8" display for audio 20))
- 7" display (free standing) (except CODE 531 (COMAND® APS) and except CODE 857 (8" display for audio 20))
