Sliding Sunroof Control Module, Basic Function - GF77.20-P-9891A
Model all (CAR) with code 414 (Electric sunroof, glass version)
Location
The sliding sunroof control module is located on the front roof frame.
Structure
The following elements are integrated in the sliding sunroof control module:
- 2 Hall sensors (position and speed detection)
- Sliding sunroof motor (drive of reversing gear)
- Sliding roof control unit
- Redirecting transmission (conversion of the rotary movement into linear movement of the drive spindle)
Task
The sliding sunroof control unit controls the movements of the sliding sunroof via the sliding sunroof motor and evaluates the following information amongst other things for this purpose:
- Hall sensor signals of the sliding sunroof motor
- Requirements for actuation
- Signals of the rain and light sensor
- Status of the front doors (open/closed)
- Vehicle speed
- Outside temperature
The sliding sunroof control unit is connected to the network architecture of the vehicle.
The sliding sunroof control unit transmits information on the current position and movement of the sliding sunroof via the network architecture.
Overheating protection:
The sliding sunroof control unit protects the sliding sunroof motor from overheating. The temperature of the sliding sunroof motor is calculated by considering the supply voltage, the flowing current, the duration of actuation, and the outside temperature. If the overheating protection was triggered, the actuation of the sliding sunroof motor is disabled for a minimum cooling time.
Exception:
The overheating protection function does not operate during roof reversal (after a blockage is detected).
