Problem 

The air intake hose must be installed according to specification. Damage can occur on the turbocharger (2) otherwise.

Cause 

If the air intake hose is attached to the turbocharger (2) with the sealing ring (1) in place, the sealing ring (1) will be crushed.

Parts of the crushed sealing ring (1) may then be sucked in and the compressor wheel of the turbocharger (2) severely damaged.

Remedy 

Fit the sealing ring (1) prior to installing the air intake hose on the compressor housing of the turbocharger (2), and then fit the air intake hose.
