- Depin contact spring of black line (BK) from white 1-pin female connector (1.1) of reversing camera wiring harness (1).
Use the depinning tool from the
basic wiring harness repair kit or
- Depin contact springs of brown/red line (BN/RD), red/black line (RD/BK) and brown lines (BN2) from black 6-pin female connector (1.2) of reversing camera wiring harness (1).
The contact spring of the brown line (BN1) in contact cavity "1" remains in the black 6-pin female connector (1.2) and is reused at a later stage.
- Branch off brown line (BN1) from reversing camera wiring harness (1).
- Open liftgate and remove cover (4).
- Open cable duct holder (2) and carefully detach cable duct (3) from liftgate, hinge and roof using
- Route previously depinned lines of reversing camera wiring harness (1) from vehicle interior through cable duct (3) into liftgate.
- Pin contact spring of black line (BK) (depinned in operation step 1) back into white 1-pin female connector (1.1).
- Pin contact springs of brown/red line (BN/RD), red/black line (RD/BK) and brown line (BN2) (depinned in operation step 2) back into black 6-pin female connector.

Contact cavity 3 = Brown line (BN2)
Contact cavity 4 = Brown/red line (BN/RD)

- Connect black 6-pin plug of reversing camera to black 6-pin female connector of reversing camera wiring harness.
- Connect white 1-pin plug of reversing camera to white 1-pin female connector of reversing camera wiring harness.
- Clip in reversing camera electrical connector (B84/3x1) and reversing camera electrical connector 2 (B84/3x2), as shown, at liftgate.
- Connect brown line (BN1) to liftgate ground point (W8).
- Route reversing camera wiring harness (1), as shown, along the existing lines and fix in place using cable ties.
- Secure cable duct (3) to liftgate, hinge and roof and close cable duct holder (2).
- Install cover (4).
- Route reversing camera wiring harness (1), as shown, along existing lines from roof frame to right rear door sill and fix in place using cable ties.
- Lift rear floor covering.
- Open cable duct cover (5) and route reversing camera wiring harness (1) along existing lines to B-pillar and fix in place using cable ties.
- Close cable duct cover (5).
- Align floor covering.
- Route red/black line (RD/BK) along existing wiring harness to battery compartment prefuse box (F33) and fix in place using cable tie.
- Disconnect blue 6-pin female connector (8) from battery compartment prefuse box (F33).
- Pin red/black line (RD/BK) of reversing camera wiring harness (1) into contact cavity 6 (arrow) of blue 6-pin female connector (8).
- Connect blue 6-pin female connector (8) to battery compartment prefuse box (F33).
- Open cable duct cover (6), potential distributor cover (7) and reversing camera wiring harness (1) along existing lines to footwell of the passenger side and fix in place with cable tie.
- Guide brown/red line (BN/RD) and brown line (BN2) to vehicle floor chassis CAN E2 potential distributor electrical connector (X30/30) and connect black 2-pin female connector to vehicle floor chassis CAN E2 potential distributor electrical connector (X30/30).
- Route black line (sw) of the reversing camera wiring harness (1) along the existing lines to COMAND controller unit (A40/3) and fix in place with cable ties.
- Depin black line (BK) of reversing camera wiring harness (1) from green 2-pin female connector (1.3).
If the green plug at the COMAND controller unit (A40/3) is used.
If the green plug at the COMAND controller unit (A40/3) is used.
- Detach green 2-pin female connector (1.3) from COMAND controller unit (A40/3) and pin black line (BK) of reversing camera wiring harness (1) into free slot of green 2-pin female connector (1.3).
- Attach green 2-pin female connector (1.3) to green 2-pin plug.
