Task
- Receive signals
- Demodulating and decoding signals
- Transmit signals
Receive signals
- Direct lines
- Telematics CAN (CAN A) (with code (864) Rear entertainment system)
- Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)
Direct lines
- Power supply over circuit 31 and circuit 30g over one direct line each
- Electronic wake-up via a direct line
- Antenna amplifier FM 2, DAB and TV 1 (A2/19) over a coaxial cable, with code (537) Digital radio over antenna amplifier TV 1 (A94/1) and a coaxial cable
- TV 2 antenna amplifier (A94/2) via a coaxial cable
- TV 3 antenna amplifier (A94/3) via a coaxial cable
Telematics CAN (CAN A) (with code (864) Rear entertainment system)
The TV tuner (analog/digital) is a telematics CAN subscriber and it communicates with the following control units:
- Left rear display (A40/5)
- Right rear display (A40/6)
- DVD player (A40/4)
MOST
The TV tuner (analog/digital) is a subscriber of the MOST, via which it communicates with the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3).
Demodulating and decoding signals
The TV signals that are received via the antenna amplifier are evaluated internally and separated into video and audio signals.
Transmit signals
Signals are sent through the following lines:
- Direct line
- Telematics (with code (864) Rear entertainment system)
- Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)
Direct line
- Phantom power supply to following antenna amplifiers:
- Antenna amplifier FM 2, DAB and TV 1, with code (537) Digital radio over antenna amplifier TV 1
- TV 2 antenna amplifier
- TV 3 antenna amplifier
- Video signals over Y/C lines to COMAND controller unit
- Video signals over Y/C lines to the DVD player (with code (864) Rear entertainment system)
- Audio signals over low frequency (LF) lines to the DVD player (with code (864) Rear entertainment system)
Telematics (with code (864) Rear entertainment system)
The TV tuner (analog/digital) is a telematics CAN subscriber and it communicates with the following control units:
- Left rear display
- Right rear display
- DVD player
MOST
The TV tuner (analog/digital) is a subscriber of the MOST, via which it communicates with the COMAND controller unit. The audio signals are transmitted to the COMAND controller unit or the sound system amplifier control unit (N40/3) (with code (810) Sound system or code (811) Advanced Sound System).
