Remove/Install Coolant Thermostat - AR20.10-P-2460CD

ENGINE 651 in MODEL 166, 172, 204, 207, 212 (except 212.098/298), 218, 221

	Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant.	Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. 	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
	Remove/install
1	Drain coolant at radiator	ENGINE 651 in MODEL 166	AR20.00-P-1142GQ
		Engine 651 in model 172 Engine 651 in model 204 Engine 651 in model 207	AR20.00-P-1142CW
		ENGINE 651 in MODEL 212 (except 212.098/298), 218, 221 : Do not check the pressure of the cooling system until engine has reached its operating temperature. Leaks can occur on the cylinder head gasket otherwise.	AR20.00-P-1142OMA
2	Remove cylinder head cover trim
3	Remove intake hose upstream of air filter housing
4	Remove cover for belt drive	Detach cover for upper belt drive to the front and remove upwards
5	Unplug electrical connection (1) at coolant thermostat heating element (R48)	The coolant thermostat heating element (R48) must not be removed from the thermostat housing (6).
6	Detach electrical connection (2) at coolant temperature sensor (B11/4)
7	Disconnect hoses (3) from thermostat housing (6)	: Check sealing rings and catch springs for damage, thoroughly clean connection but do not grease and ensure exact seating of the catch springs: Leaks can occur on the engine as a result otherwise. : Check hose clamps for damage; replace if necessary. 8	Disconnect water hoses (7) from thermostat housing (6)	: Check hose clamps for damage; replace if necessary.
9	Remove screw/bolts (4, 5) and remove thermostat housing (6)	Bolt, thermostat to cylinder head/coolant pump	*BA20.10-P-1001-01X
10	Install in the reverse order
11	Check cooling system for leaktightness	ENGINE 651 in MODEL 166	AR20.00-P-1010GQ
