Battery test with Midtronics Testers With the introduction of the "Midtronics MCR 717" battery tester in May 2003, and the later "Midtronics EXP 717" in October 2010, all battery types (wet cell and AGM/VRLA batteries) can no longer be tested using previous methods. Load testing or measurement of acid density for all battery types is eliminated. Additionally, acid levels can not be checked. Do not open/remove the cover from an AGM/VRLA battery. Acid density test sheets for warranty and goodwill claims are also eliminated.
Warranty or goodwill claims for the replacement of a wet cell/lead calcium/AGM/VRLA battery must include the information specified within S-B-54.10/243. The test report hardcopy should be filed in the workshop. Please review S-B-58.00/124A and AR54.10-P-1129-01A before performing the battery test on AGM/VRLA batteries. |
