Energy Management, Basic Function - GF54.10-P-9900A
MODEL ALL (CAR)
The energy management manages the provision (supply) and consumption (budget) of electrical energy. It controls all the measures that assure the mobility of the vehicle and guarantee that all the consumers receive a stable supply of electrical energy according to requirements. The aim is efficient use of energy.
Versions of on-board electrical system:
- 12 V on-board electrical system
The 12 V on-board electrical system supplies consumers such as the exterior and interior lighting and comfort functions with electrical energy. The main components of the 12 V on-board electrical system are the on-board electrical system battery, the alternator or the DC/DC converter (vehicles with 48 V technology, hybrid vehicles, electric vehicles) and the energy management control.
- 48 V on-board electrical system (vehicles with 48 V technology)
The 48 V on-board electrical system supplies all 48 V consumer (consumers with high energy requirement) with electrical energy.
Depending on the vehicle version involved, the 48 V on-board electrical system can also supply the electrical energy for the combustion engine's starting procedure. The main components of the 48 V on-board electrical system are the 48 V on-board electrical system battery, DC/DC converter control unit (energy transfer), powertrain control unit (traction management control) and - depending on vehicle version involved - the starter-alternator.
- High-voltage on-board electrical system (hybrid vehicles)
The high-voltage on-board electrical system makes it possible to operate the electric machine for the electric drive. In addition, the high-voltage on-board electrical system supplies consumers with high energy demands, e.g. the electric refrigerant compressor or the high-voltage PTC heater, with electrical energy. The main components of the high-voltage on-board electrical system are the high-voltage battery, electric machine and the battery management system control unit (energy management).
