If there is any damage to the bracket (1), connector (2) or lock tab (1n), the corresponding parts must be replaced.
Otherwise, the connector (2) may work its way loose from the ESP® control unit (4) and the brake system may malfunction.
Detach electrical connection
- Remove cap from electrical connection.
- Push both release tabs (1e), as shown, upwards and open connector locking mechanism.
Do not use a tool and do not open lock tab (1n). Otherwise, the lock tab (1n), connector locking mechanism or the bracket (1) may be damaged.
- Swivel bracket (1) upwards approx. 90°.
Connector (2) is pushed slightly out of the jack (3) on the ESP control unit® (4).
- Pull connector (2) out of jack (3).
While doing so, do not pull out connector (2) using the bracket (1).
Otherwise, the bracket (1) and connector locking mechanism may be damaged.
- Swivel bracket (1) downwards until the connector locking mechanism latches.
To avoid damage to the bracket (1) and connector locking mechanism.
Mount electrical connection
- Push both release tabs (1e), as shown, upwards and open connector locking mechanism.
Do not use a tool and do not open lock tab (1n).
Otherwise, the lock tab (1n), connector locking mechanism or the bracket (1) may be damaged.
- Swivel bracket (1) upwards approx. 90°.
- Insert connector (2) far enough into the jack (3) on the ESP® control unit (4) until its entire length makes uniform contact with the jack (3).
While doing so, do not insert connector (2) using bracket (1).
Otherwise, the bracket (1) and connector locking mechanism may be damaged.
- Swivel bracket (1) downwards until the connector locking mechanism latches.
The connector (2) is drawn into its end position and locked.
- Mount cap to electrical connection.
