Location

The multifunction camera is located at top center under a panel on the windshield.

Reading in of sensors and signals

The input factors are read in over the chassis CAN 1 (CAN E1).

The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see appropriate block diagram or function schematic).

Evaluation of input factors

The input factors are evaluated by the microprocessor and the corresponding components are actuated.

Controlling functions

The multifunction camera controls the following functions:

IMPORTANT MODEL 166 up to model year 2016 with CODE 608 (Adaptive Highbeam Assist) with CODE 610 (Night View Assist)

The multifunction camera also evaluates light sources in front of the vehicle.

Actuation of components

The signals are transmitted by the multifunction camera via the chassis CAN 1. The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see appropriate block diagram or function schematic).

IMPORTANT To prevent the windshield from fogging up in the multifunction camera's field of view, this area is heated by the auxiliary heater heating element (R50). The auxiliary heater heating element is directly actuated by the multifunction camera.
