Function requirements for hydraulic brake mode, general

Hydraulic brake mode, general

The driver's brake command is detected by the pedal angle sensor and sent to the Electronic Stability Program control unit.

The Electronic Stability Program control unit communicates continuously over chassis CAN 1 (CAN E1), the powertrain control unit (N127) and the engine CAN (CAN C1) with the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) and over the hybrid CAN (CAN L) with the power electronics control unit about the value of the currently available, requested and applied regenerative braking torque.

If it is not possible to realize regenerative sensing of the brake torque, then the braking torque is then generated hydraulically by the service brake only.

Hydraulic brake mode function sequence

To generate hydraulic pressure in the service brake, the Electronic Stability Program control unit actuates the BAS solenoid valve, whereby the BAS brake booster generates the hydraulic brake pressure. In this instance the free travel (3) is not reduced.

The distribution of the brake pressure to the front and rear axles is realized by a brake pressure distribution in the hydraulic unit traction system.

The electrical machine is not actuated.
