General 

Depending on the vehicle, the panoramic sliding sunroof drive unit is either a separate component part or forms a unit together with the panoramic sliding sunroof control unit, namely the panoramic sliding sunroof control module (A98).

Location 

The panoramic sliding sunroof drive unit or the panoramic sliding sunroof control module is located on the front roof frame.

Task 

The panoramic sliding sunroof drive unit opens and closes the panoramic sliding sunroof.

The panoramic sliding sunroof control unit (N70/1) actuates the panoramic sliding sunroof drive unit.

The panoramic sliding sunroof control unit (A98n1) actuates the panoramic sliding sunroof motor.

Structure 

The following elements are integrated in the panoramic sliding sunroof drive unit:

• 2 Hall sensors (position and speed detection)
• Panoramic sliding sunroof motor (reversing gear drive)
• Reversing gear (conversion of rotating movement into a longitudinal movement)

The panoramic sliding sunroof control unit (A98n1) is also installed in the panoramic sliding sunroof control module.
