Only remove and install pneumatic springs when they are not under tension and when the components are properly secured.

Risk of injury 

Risk of body parts being pinched or crushed during work on pneumatic springs that are under tension.

When removing/installing the pneumatic springs that are not free of tension, injuries to body parts may occur through cutting, pinching or crushing.

Safety instructions/precautions 

• Only remove and install a pneumatic spring in its untensioned position (thrust or push rod completely extended).
• Support or secure the components held by the pneumatic spring (flaps, doors, cover, seat frame, etc.) in position using suitable means prior to removal of the pneumatic spring.
• Replace damaged retaining clips or clasps.
• Secure the operating area of mechanical components against interference when parts are in motion.
