Remove/Install Low-Pressure Fuel Lines - AR07.03-P-1121MNG

Engine 177 in Model 205, 253 

MODIFICATION NOTES

30.01.2017 Union nut for fuel line on fuel rail   BA07.03-P-1001-01H

  Risk of explosion  caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel. No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers only.
Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.		 AS47.00-Z-0001-01A
  Risk of explosion  caused by fuel igniting. Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by fuel spraying out at high pressure Keep all ignition sources out of hazard area.
Do not carry out any work on system when it is pressurized.		 AS07.16-Z-0001-01A 
CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of engine oil. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing engine oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.		 AS18.00-Z-0001-01A
  Notes on threaded connections fastened using a tightening angle-based tightening process   AH00.00-P-0020-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Disconnect the ground line for the on-board electrical system battery (G1).   AR54.10-P-0003LW
2.1 Remove air filter housing on left and right. Engine 177 in Model 253  
Left air filter housing AR09.10-P-1151MNG
Right air filter housing AR09.10-P-1152MNG
2.2 Remove air filter housing. Engine 177 in Model 205 AR09.10-P-1150MNA
3 Pull out cover (15) upward.    
4 Relieve fuel pressure via service connection (4) Engine 177 in Model 253 AR07.03-P-1460-01MNG

TORQUE SPECIFICATION Dust protection cap to service connection *BA07.03-P-1005-01H

  Left low-pressure line     
5 Remove soundproofing (5).    
6 Remove screws of the service connection (4) from the cylinder head cover. TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, fuel line service connection to left cylinder head cover *BA07.03-P-1002-01H 
7 Remove brackets of left low-pressure line (7) from left cylinder head cover. TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, fuel line clamp to engine/bracket *BA07.03-P-1004-01H 
8 Clean area around the left low-pressure line (7). Assembly cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
9 Remove fuel supply line from service connection (4) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. TORQUE SPECIFICATION Union nut, fuel hose to diagnostic socket/fuel line *BA07.03-P-1006-01H

10 Remove left low-pressure line (7) with service connection (4) from fuel high-pressure pump (6) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. TORQUE SPECIFICATION Union nut, fuel line to fuel distributor/fuel system high-pressure pump *BA07.03-P-1001-01H

11 Remove filler neck for engine oil. Engine 177 in Model 205 and Model 253

12 Remove cover (8).    
13 Remove bleed line (11). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace seals of bleed line (11).  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, vent line to cylinder head cover/turbocharger *BA01.20-P-1001-01J 
14 Remove left low-pressure line (7) with service connection (4) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. INSTALLATION NOTES : Always replace hose after opening clamp.
Leaks can occur otherwise.

15 Check left low-pressure line (7) with service connection (4) for damage. Assembly cleaner
If a problem occurs
↓
Replace left low-pressure line (7) with service connection (4).		 *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
16 Remove brackets from the left low-pressure line (7) with service connection (4). When replacing left low-pressure line (7) with service connection (4).  
  Right low-pressure line     
17 Remove soundproofing (3).    
18 Remove brackets of the right low-pressure line (1) from the right cylinder head cover. TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, fuel line clamp to engine/bracket *BA07.03-P-1004-01H 
19 Clean area around the right low-pressure line (1). Assembly cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
20 Remove right low-pressure line (1) from fuel high-pressure pump (2) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. TORQUE SPECIFICATION Union nut, fuel line to fuel distributor/fuel system high-pressure pump *BA07.03-P-1001-01H

21 Remove bleed line (9). IMPORTANT : Install new seals of the bleed line (9).  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, vent line to cylinder head cover/turbocharger *BA01.20-P-1001-01J 
22 Remove right low-pressure line (1) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. INSTALLATION NOTES : Always replace hose after opening clamp. Leaks can occur otherwise.

23 Check right low-pressure line (1) for damage. Assembly cleaner
If a problem occurs
↓
Replace right low-pressure line (1).		 *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
24 Remove brackets from the right low-pressure line (1). When replacing right low-pressure line (1).  
  Center low-pressure line     
25 Remove left charge air cooler. Engine 177 in Model 253 AR09.41-P-6827MNG
Engine 177 in Model 205
IMPORTANT : Only install front and center lower engine compartment lining after engine test run.		 AR09.41-P-6827MNA
26 Remove right charge air cooler. Engine 177 in Model 253 AR09.41-P-6828MNG
Engine 177 in Model 205 AR09.41-P-6828MNA
27 Remove boots with bleed lines (10) from the exhaust gas turbochargers and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, clamp for charge air hose to charge-air distributor *BA09.41-P-1002-01X 
28 Remove left and right charge air hose (14) and seal openings with clean, lint-free rags. TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, clamp for charge air hose to charge-air distributor *BA09.41-P-1002-01X 
29 Remove vacuum line (12) from left and right exhaust gas turbocharger and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Figure
30 Remove left and right low-pressure line (1, 7) from the center low-pressure line (13) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. INSTALLATION NOTES : Always replace hose after opening clamp.
Leaks can occur otherwise.

31 Remove center low-pressure line (13) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. INSTALLATION NOTES : Hose must basically be replaced once clamps are opened.
Leaks can occur otherwise.

32 Remove center low-pressure line (13) upward.    
33 Check center low-pressure line (13) for damage. Assembly cleaner
If a problem occurs
↓
Replace center low-pressure line (13).		 *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
34 Remove brackets from the center low-pressure line (13). When replacing center low-pressure line (13).  
35 Install in the reverse order.    
WARNING Risk of accident  from Vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure Vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
36 Perform an engine test run and check engine for proper operation and leaktightness    
37 Install front and center bottom engine compartment linings. When removing/installing center low-pressure line AR61.20-P-1105LW
