Location 

The hand motion sensor is installed in the overhead control panel (N70).

Tasks 

Using a camera, the hand motion sensor detects hand movements made by the driver and front passenger and turns them into operation signals for vehicle functions. At the same time, the hand motion sensor performs the following tasks in particular:

• Reception of control signals from the head unit via the telematics CAN (CAN A)
• Image evaluation
• Transmission of operation signals to the head unit via the telematics CAN

The hand motion sensor can be switched on and off as well as configured via a menu in the head unit.
