General 

Smartphone integration makes it possible to operate and display the contents of the smartphone via the multimedia system's display and control elements. The multimedia system supports the following integration standards:

Function requirements 

Smartphone integration function 

If a smartphone is connected and the corresponding integration standard is activated, then the multimedia system switches to a special operating mode, the "integration mode". In integration mode, the media display shows the smartphone apps. Operation occurs via the multimedia system's control elements.

Only one mobile phone can be connected to the multimedia system via smartphone integration at any time. Smartphone integration takes place via USB. Smartphone integration is only possible at a USB port with the marking for smartphone integration shown in the picture.

When smartphone integration is active with a smartphone, there are the following restrictions:

During active smartphone integration, both the vehicle's voice control system (brief press), and the smartphone's voice control system (long press) may be called up using the voice control button.

Special features of Android Auto 

With the Android Auto integration standard, the multimedia system also establishes, in addition to the connection via USB (Universal Serial Bus), a connection to the smartphone via Bluetooth® automatically.

Telephone signals are transferred via Bluetooth® with Android Auto.

Special features of Apple CarPlay™ 

On vehicles with code 545 (Connect 5 (NTG6)), smartphone integration can also occur via WiFi. Here, the WiFi connection is established via the Bluetooth® coupling. Both Bluetooth® and WiFi must be activated on the smartphone and in the vehicle.

IMPORTANT On vehicles with code 545 (Connect 5 (NTG6)), the WiFi access point is exclusively for the use of Apple® CarPlay.
