Front Fog Light Actuation, Function - GF82.10-P-3070RF
Model 205, Model 253
Function requirements, general
- No overvoltage or undervoltage
- Terminal 15 ON
- Low beam ON
The electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) sends the status of circuit 15 via interior CAN (CAN B) to the front SAM control unit (N10/6).
Front fog light actuation, general
The front fog light actuation enables the rear area of the vehicle to be identified in poor weather conditions.
Function sequence for front fog light actuation
The rear fog light actuation is requested by pressing the rear fog light button (S1s10) on the exterior lights switch (S1).
The front SAM control unit reads in the status of the rear fog light button directly and sends the request to switch on the rear fog light via interior CAN to the rear SAM control unit (N10/8) and on vehicles with CODE 550 (Trailer hitch) to the trailer recognition control unit (N28/1).
The rear SAM control unit directly actuates the following components in accordance with the country coding:
- Left rear lamp unit (E3) (Model 205.0/1):
- Left rear fog light (E3e5)
- Inner left rear lamp unit (E3/1) (Model 205.2/3/4, Model 253):
- Left rear fog lamp (E3/1e5)
- Right rear lamp unit (E4) (Model 205.0/1):
- Right rear fog light (E4e5)
- Inner right rear lamp unit (E4/1) (Model 205.2/3/4, Model 253):
- Right rear fog lamp (E4/1e5)
The trailer recognition control unit (with CODE 550 (Trailer hitch)) actuates the corresponding rear fog light on the trailer via the trailer socket (X58).
The rear fog light on the vehicle is not actuated during trailer operation. For this purpose, the trailer recognition control unit sends a corresponding signal with the information "Operational rear fog lamp exists on trailer" via interior CAN to the rear SAM control unit.
The active rear fog light actuation is indicated visually to the driver. The front SAM control unit transmits the request "Rear fog light indicator lamp On" via interior CAN, electronic ignition lock control unit and user interface CAN (CAN HMI) to the instrument cluster (A1), which then actuates the rear fog light indicator lamp (A1e18). The symbol of the indicator lamp is accordingly shown in the digital full display (with code 464 (Digital instrument cluster full display)).
