Location 

The ambiance illumination control unit is located in the front passenger footwell behind the cover.

Tasks 

The ambient lighting control unit has the following tasks:

• Reading in of signals 
• Evaluation of input factors 
• Actuation of components 

Reading in of signals 

The ambiance illumination control unit reads in the following function-relevant information over the interior CAN, among other things:

• Luminosity and color with which the ambiance illumination is to be realized
• Terminal status of terminal 15
• Status of central locking
• Status of the front doors
• Status of the rear doors (Model 205.0/1/2, Model 253)
• Exit warning request (with code 23P (Driving Assistance Package), or code 234 (Blind Spot Assist))

Evaluation of input factors 

The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.

Actuation of components 

The components are actuated via the following lines:

• Left front door ambient lighting LIN (LIN B30) 
• Right front door ambient lighting LIN (LIN B31) 
• Left rear door ambient lighting LIN (LIN B32) (Model 205.0/1/2, Model 253) 
• Right rear door ambient lighting LIN (LIN B33) (Model 205.0/1/2, Model 253) 
• Cockpit ambient lighting LIN (LIN B34) 
• Vehicle interior ambient lighting LIN (LIN B35) 
• Roof ambient lighting LIN (LIN B36) 

Left front door ambiance illumination LIN 

The signals are transmitted by the ambient lighting control unit via the left front door ambient lighting LIN.

Right front door ambiance illumination LIN 

The signals are transmitted by the ambient lighting control unit via the right front door ambient lighting LIN.

Left rear door ambient lighting LIN (Model 205.0/1/2, Model 253) 

The signals are transmitted by the ambient lighting control unit via the left rear door ambient lighting LIN.

Right rear door ambient lighting LIN (Model 205.0/1/2, Model 253) 

The signals are transmitted by the ambient lighting control unit via the right rear door ambient lighting LIN.

Cockpit ambiance illumination LIN 

The signals are transmitted by the ambient lighting control unit via the cockpit ambient lighting LIN.

Vehicle interior ambiance illumination LIN 

The signals are transmitted by the ambient lighting control unit via the vehicle interior ambient lighting LIN.

Roof ambiance illumination LIN 

The signals are transmitted by the ambient lighting control unit via the roof ambient lighting LIN.
