Location 

The tire pressure monitoring control unit is located on the vehicle floor above the rear axle differential.

Tasks 

The tire pressure monitoring system control unit has the following tasks:

Reading in of signals 

The input factors are read in via the following connections:

Two-way radio 

The tire pressure monitor control unit reads in the signals of the following components via radio:

Suspension CAN 2 (up to model year 2019) or user interface CAN (as of model year 2019) 

The tire pressure monitoring system control unit also reads in the following signals over suspension CAN 2 or over the user interface CAN:

Evaluation of input factors 

The integrated microprocessor evaluates the input factors read in.

Transmission of information 

The tire pressure monitoring system control unit sends information about the displays and warning messages shown, over suspension CAN 2 (up to model year 2019) or the user interface CAN (as of model year 2019) to the instrument cluster.

Structure 

The central antenna is integrated into the housing of the tire pressure monitoring system control unit.
