Programming with diagnostic system or XENTRY Kit (XENTRY Flash) 

XENTRY Flash is the name given to the Daimler AG standard for programming control units.

A distinction is made between the following types of programming:

• Online programming
• Programming with Flash Support File (assistance from user help desk)

Further explanations of terms:

• Flashing:  Programming of control units.
• Software:  Control unit software.
• Flash Support File:  Contains the relevant data for determining the control unit software through the user help desk of the diagnostic system.

Programming with Flash Support File (assistance from user help desk) 

• The Flash Support File contains the solution for a specific request for ECU programming.
• The workshop must first send the flash support file to the user help desk of the diagnostic system (request data). The user help desk of the diagnostic system creates the response data and electronically sends the flash support file back to the workshop.
• The documentation in the Vehicle Documentation (VeDoc) system takes place automatically after the control unit has been programmed.
