4	Remove expansion rivet (1) and unfasten front left fender liner from bumper	Model 205 (except 205.086/087/286/287/386/387/486/487) with code 489 (AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension) Model 253 with code 489 (AIR BODY CONTROL)
5	Release and disconnect electrical connector (2)
6	Mark positions of pressure line connections (3) relative to valve unit (6)
7	Unscrew pressure line connections (3) from valve unit (6) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs	Record plug	Fig 4
8	Unscrew bolts (4) and remove valve unit (6)
	Check
9	Check elastomer bearings (5) for hardening and damage	If a problem arises ↓ Replace corresponding elastomer bearings (5).
	Install

11	Remove all stop plugs
12	Mount pressure line connections (3) to valve unit (6)	The threads of pressure line connections (3) must not be damaged. Otherwise, leaks will occur. Pay attention to marking.

16	Read out and erase fault memory using the diagnostic system

	Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. 17	Perform an engine test run and check air suspension for proper operation
