	Remove/install
1	Shift transmission to N position.
2	Secure vehicle on vehicle lift.		AR00.60-P-0100CW
3	Drain pressure of air suspension at rear axle using vehicle diagnosis system.

4	Remove rear wheels.		AR40.10-P-1102A
5	Remove left and right underfloor paneling.	Model 213.264	AR61.30-P-1001LWE
6	Remove diagonal struts.	Model 213.264 Bolt, rear diagonal strut to spare wheel well/body	*BA61.10-P-1008-01L
7	Remove exhaust system.	Model 213.064/264 with engine 276.8 except code 598 (Gasoline particulate filter (OPF) with sensor system)	AR49.10-P-7142MND
8	Remove propeller shaft from rear axle differential, place to one side and fix in place.		AR41.10-P-0050LW
9	Unclip electric lines from holders for level sensors.
10	Disconnect electrical connectors from level sensors and place electric lines to one side.
11	Remove air springs.	Model 213.064/264 with code 489 (AIRMATIC)	AR32.22-P-1500MNE
12	Remove shock absorbers from spring links.		AR32.25-P-0110LW
13	Support rear axle (1) using major assembly mount and mounting plate.

14	Remove rear screws from rear axle carrier.	Do not use an impact wrench. Otherwise, the threads will be damaged. Use compressed air to clean thread in frame floor assembly and check for correct seating of threaded inserts.
		Self-locking bolt securing rear decoupling element of rear axle carrier to frame floor assembly	*BA35.10-P-1002-01H
15	Carefully lower rear axle (1) at rear.	Do not subject brake hoses to tension. Otherwise the brake hoses will be damaged. Do not tilt shock absorbers in the spring control arms.
16	Remove rear elastomer bearings (2).		AR35.10-P-0040-03LW
		Always replace rear elastomer bearings (2) in pairs. Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 l	*BR00.45-Z-1010-06A
