Press off joint hub 

1. Press off joint hub (37d) with half shells and drift (37a) from rear axle shaft.
2. Check splined profile on joint hub (37d) and rear axle shaft for damage.

   The joint hub (37d) can be used again if, on its splined profile (arrow), no more than 3 teeth per caulking have broken out, up to a maximum length of 6 mm.

   Press on joint hub 

3. Clamp rear axle shaft using protective jaws into vise.
4. Press on joint hub (37d) using suitable tool until dimension (b) is reached.

   Caulk joint hub 

5. Clamp rear axle shaft in vise so that the joint hub (37d) is resting on the half shells and the ball retainer can still be rotated.
6. Mount new caulkings (arrow) using caulker in the center between the caulkings already there.

   In order to prevent damage (e.g. breaking away) of the ball raceways, the caulkings (arrow) must be made as close as possible to the splined profile.
