with code 223 (Electric backrest adjustment and head restraints)
Location
The right rear seat control unit is located on the right, at the rear panel of the backrest in the rear.
Tasks
The right rear seat control unit has the following tasks:
- Control of seat adjustment
- Storing/retrieving the memory settings The tasks are subdivided as follows:
- Read in sensors and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuation of components
- Transmitting signals
Read in sensors and signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Right rear seat LIN (LIN B21) (with code 903 (Seat heater plus for rear outer seats))
- Interior CAN (CAN B)
Direct line
The signals from the following sensors are read in via direct lines:
- Right rear seat head restraint seat adjustment motor Hall sensor (M18/14b1)
- Right rear seat backrest inclination adjustment Hall sensor (M28/11b1)
- Right rear seat cushion seat side bolster heater pad temperature sensor (R13/17b1) (with code 903 (Seat heater plus for rear outer seats))
- Right rear backrest seat side bolster heater pad temperature sensor (R13/18b1) (with code 903 (Seat heater plus for rear outer seats))
Right rear seat LIN (with code 903 (Seat heater plus for rear outer seats))
The right rear seat control unit reads in the status of the seat heater from the right rear seat heater control unit (N25/12) via the right rear seat LIN.
Interior CAN
The following signals, among others, are read in via interior CAN:
- Seat adjustment request
- Request for storing/moving to memory position
- Seat heater request (with code 872 (Seat heater in rear) or code 402 (Rear comfort seats, including seat heating and seat ventilation) or code 903 (Seat heater plus for rear outer seats))
- Request for seat ventilation (with code 402 (Rear comfort seats, incl. seat heating and seat ventilation))
Evaluation of input factors
The read in input factors are evaluated by the right rear seat control unit. The motors for seat adjustment are actuated via integrated relays.
Actuation of components
The following components are actuated via direct lines:
- Right rear seat head restraint seat adjustment motor (M18/14)
- Right rear seat backrest inclination adjustment motor (M28/11)
With code 402 (Rear comfort seats, incl. seat heating and seat ventilation):
- Right rear seat backrest ventilation motors (M18/5)
- Right rear seat cushion ventilation motors (M18/6)
With code 872 (Seat heater in rear) or code 402 (Rear comfort seats, incl. seat heating and seat ventilation):
- Right rear seat surface heater pad (R13/7)
- Right rear backrest heater pad (R13/8)
