Model 213.1
up to model year 2021
with code 223 (Electric backrest adjustment and head restraints)
Location
The left rear seat control unit is located on the left, at the rear panel of the backrest in the rear.
Tasks
The left rear seat control unit has the following tasks:
- Control of seat adjustment
- Storing/retrieving the memory settings
The tasks are subdivided as follows:
- Read in sensors and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuation of components
- Transmitting signals
Read in sensors and signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Left rear seat LIN (LIN B20) (with code 903 (Seat heater plus for rear outer seats))
- Interior CAN (CAN B)
Direct line
The signals from the following sensors are read in via direct lines:
- Left rear seat head restraint seat adjustment motor Hall sensor (M18/13b1)
- Left rear seat backrest inclination adjustment Hall sensor (M27/11b1)
- Left rear seat cushion seat side bolster heater pad temperature sensor (R13/15b1) (with code 903 (Seat heater plus for rear outer seats))
- Left rear backrest seat side bolster heater pad temperature sensor (R13/16b1) (with code 903 (Seat heater plus for rear outer seats))
Left rear seat LIN (with code 903 (Seat heater plus for rear outer seats))
The left rear seat control unit reads in the status of the seat heater from the left rear seat heater control unit (N25/11) via the left rear seat LIN.
Interior CAN
The following signals, among others, are read in via interior CAN:
- Seat adjustment request
- Request for storing/moving to memory position
- Seat heater request (with code 872 (Seat heater in rear) or code 402 (Rear comfort seats, including seat heating and seat ventilation) or code 903 (Seat heater plus for rear outer seats))
- Request for seat ventilation (with code 402 (Rear comfort seats, incl. seat heating and seat ventilation))
Evaluation of input factors
The read in input factors are evaluated by the left rear seat control unit. The motors for seat adjustment are actuated via integrated relays.
Actuation of components
The following components are actuated via direct lines:
- Left rear seat head restraint seat adjustment motor (M18/13)
- Left rear seat backrest inclination adjustment motor (M27/11)
With code 402 (Rear comfort seats, incl. seat heating and seat ventilation):
- Left rear seat backrest ventilation motors (M18/7)
- Left rear seat cushion ventilation motors (M18/8)
With code 872 (Seat heater in rear) or code 402 (Rear comfort seats, incl. seat heating and seat ventilation):
- Left rear seat surface heater pad (R13/5)
- Left rear backrest heater pad (R13/6)
With code 903 (Seat heater Plus for outer rear seats):
- Seat cushion seat side bolster heater pad, left rear (R13/15)
- Backrest seat side bolster heater pad, left rear (R13/16)
Transmitting signals
The signals are transmitted via the following connections:
- Left rear seat LIN (with code 903 (Seat heater plus for rear outer seats))
- Interior CAN
Left rear seat LIN (with code 903 (Seat heater plus for rear outer seats))
The left rear seat control unit transmits corresponding requests for the function of the seat heater via the left rear seat LIN to the left rear seat heater control unit.
