	Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

	Remove/install
1	Remove underfloor paneling	Engine 177 in model 205.4
			AR61.30-P-1001LW
2	Unfasten longitudinal member panel on underfloor and press to the side	Engine 177 in model 205.4
			AR88.80-P-6000LW
3	Remove diagonal struts	Engine 177 in model 205.4
		Bolt, rear diagonal strut to spare wheel well/body	*BA61.10-P-1008-01L
		Bolt, front diagonal strut to longitudinal member	*BA61.10-P-1007-01L
4	Release and disconnect electrical connection on plug connection (2)
5	Support rear muffler (1)
	000 588 10 62 00 Support plate		WS26.00-P-3309B
	000 588 11 62 00 Major assembly mount		WS01.00-P-0092B
6	Detach elastomer bearing (3) on rear muffler (1)
7	Open connecting clamp (4) and remove rear muffler (1) downwards	Installation: Replace connecting clamp (4).
		Clamp, center exhaust system to rear exhaust system	*BA49.10-P-1008-02E
	Clean
8	Remove combustion and corrosion residues at separating point
	Check
9	Check elastomer bearing (3) for wear and check for damage; replace if necessary
10	Install in the reverse order
	Check
11	Check installation position and unobstructed movement of rear muffler (1)
	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
12	Perform an engine test run and check exhaust system for leaktightness
